Just some comments
12.16.04 (7:00 pm)   [edit]

Just to answer some questions we got:

No, we haven't tried domestic animals. There were dog meat restaurants in Vietnam but we didn't go. I was also offered by street vendors lovely crunchy crickets and juicy black spiders (you know, the ones that explode in a creamy surprise in your mouth). You can guess whether I tried or not (although I know some Spanish people who would).
Vietnamese fanny tastes great though, I really enjoyed it (Fanny is an ice cream brand, perverts).

No, we don't wear local clothes either. Penelope bought something (actually a lot of things) here, but so far I haven't seen any locals wearing them and all foreign women have bought the same. Does it qualify as "local clothes"?  &nbs p;

My cousin was writing that at our age we only go to places with a plug for the blow dryer. In this area you're lucky if there's a wall in the first place.

Yesterday we met some Cambodian 6 year old girls who sold us some small stuff. Those poor girls were so clever that it seems such a waste of potential that they can't have a proper education. At their age I doubt that I was even able to speak yet, let alone hold an intelligent conversation. And their English was a gazillion times better than some managers' in MS who have spent 15 years in the States. And don't even get me started with the IQ, it doesn't even begin to compare, it's so unfair. At the end they even gave us a couple of the braceletes they were selling for free. I was more impressed by these girls than by the temples.

Hello my Greek friends.

Me no read blog long time.

I finally got around to reading your stories and I must say that Vassilis seem to be doing better than ever :) Thank god you are enjoying your trip and with you usual optimistic view of world are able to entertain us.

A delayed happy birthday to you Vassilis, you old b......s ;)

I am very disappointed that you didn't try the dog yet, you know, when in Rome....Have you at least tried snake, I mean on purpose :)

Oh, and while I am at it now that you are enjoying yourselves, we will soon migrate to the southern hemisphere where the only sales people approaching you will those on the beach offering salty snacks and Ice cold beer which I will graciously accept :D

Hoi An and the Temple in Cambodia are on my list already.

Enjoy your travels and keep writing these entertaining comments, remember to pass our regards to the two Italians when you see them.

Great pics!!! Did you put the bicycle under the window in Vietnam yourself or was it just a coincidence? It looks so nice...
Vassilis seems to be enjoying himself but cautiously doesn't take off his boots and jeans even on a beach well aware of spiders and other nasty animals... Today is our last day at work - yupiii- and while you are moving to new adventures -we will be drinking mulled wine a skiing in the Czech mountains (both at the same time, hehe). BTW, we already started practising when on Saturday only a handful of people turned up at our private Christmas party in Abberley so usual suspects (A+L+M+M) had to drink 4 litres of glogg themselves:-) We missed you, guys:-( Merry Cristmas and a Happy New Year!
